Get your puppy used to being handled




Why is it important that your puppy is used to and comfortable being handled?
Dogs may have problems with their eyes/ears/feet, if they are not used to being handled then they may resent exam. You are more likely to pick up early problems if your dog is used to being well handled as a puppy.

If dogs are used to handling and exam (and tooth brushing) form young then they will be comfortable with it.

Handling should be made to seem like fun
Treats can help
If your dog does not like his feet bing touched then you should slowly progress to lifting his feet.
